Newborn Pictures

I have an amazing friend that was able to take some newborn pictures of Fischer when he was about 3 weeks old (yes I know it's taken my 2 weeks to post them). She has such a talent in truly capturing the personality of who she is taking pictures of. Brianna Anderson and I have been in the same bible study for a few years now and have become good friends. I'm so thankful she was able to take pictures of Fischer. Thank you Bri!

Here's the link to see the rest of them on our Picasa album.

Baby Avery!

Baby Avery is here! She arrived Saturday morning. She was 8lbs and 19 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful and so precious. After spending just a little bit of time with Nate and Jessica in the hospital, little Avery is so lucky to have such great parents. (which we knew already) They are now home and doing great. I can't wait for little Avery and Fischer to be old enough to play with each other since they are so close in age! :)
Look at the amazing bow in her hair!

4 Weeks Old

WOW it's hard to believe that Fischer is already 4 weeks old. Our little boy has already grown so much. People tell you how quickly babies grow and I never quite understood until I've watched Fischer change in just a short 4 weeks. He looks so different from when he was born.

Just minutes old
5 Days Old
1 Week Old
2 Weeks Old
3 Weeks Old
4 Weeks Old (I'm one growing boy)

My First Bath

Last night we gave Fischer his first real bath. He LOVED it! We weren't sure how he would like it but he enjoyed every minute of it. (and we got to use our baby tub for the first time haha)

All snug, warm and dry! :)

The Beautiful Bride

I didn't have any pictures of Mara and Zach when I made my first post so I wanted to post a few pictures of the beautiful bride and her husband! She looked amazing.

Mara changed her vail and necklace for the reception!

Fischer's 1st Wedding

Yesterday I got to be a bridesmaid of a great friend's wedding. It was so special to share that time with Mara and Zach. We had a fun filled day of just hanging out and having fun. Fischer spent he whole day running around with Blake while I was doing wedding festivities. It was the longest I've been away from the little guy! It was hard but yet being able to spend quality time with great friends kept my mind busy.

Blake and Fischer came for the wedding and reception. Little Fischer's 1st wedding at 3 weeks old! :) He did so good, in fact all he did the whole time was sleep. Yep even with all the loud music and noise. He's perfect (not that I'm biased or anything)

Our family picture at the reception. Fischer's 1st wedding.
Jessica in the middle here is due next week!!! What a trooper for hanging out with us during the reception.
Mara...I love you!!! Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding day! You were an amazing bride! We will be praying for you as you start your new adventure called marriage!

Who do I look like?

Blake and I decided to go through our baby pictures to see who Fischer looked like. I think he got a good combo of both of us. Take a look for yourself. Tell us who you think he took after!

Our first big adventure out of the house

So yesterday was a big day for Fischer and I. It was the first day that we were on our own with Blake being at work for 24 hours. Blake went back to work on Monday but I had Amanda my sister in law stay with me all day and spend the night with us! I wasn't ready to spend a whole day by myself just quite yet! :) So yesterday we managed to do some laundry and get a few small things done around the house in between feedings, fussyness and changing diapers. Then we also had our first big adventure out of the house, just the 2 of us. In fact is was the first time I've driven a car since having Fischer. I had to go have my bridesmaid dress fitted for a wedding that I'm in next week. So I timed it where I would get to Blake's parents house in time to feed, meet Amanda and then head off to Nordstroms at Fashion Square.
So after getting done feeding Amanda and I started to gather our things to get ready to head off to the mall. Well I had everything but 1 little detail, the car keys! After walking back out to the car there they were sitting on the back seat. When I got little Fischer out of the car I was so worried about him I left the keys on the seat and proceeded to lock to the car. Yes I locked the keys in the car!

So thankfully Papa Robinson is a very hand man and was able to find something at Ace Hardware that got the door open. Papa to the rescue, yes even if it's breaking into a car! HA

This is a side story - While Papa Robinson was at Ace Hardware we were sitting inside just chatting laughing about what I had just done on my first adventure out of the house. And all the sudden we heard this tapping at the back sliding door. After getting up, thinking that we would see someone standing at the back door, nope here is what we found.

There was a family of quail standing at the back door pecking at the glass. Blake's parents have a seed block in their back yard so needless to say their yard is full of quail, doves, bunnies and every other bird you can think of. And come to find out this is an everyday routine for this family of quail. I got a good chuckle out of this so I just had to take a picture and share it! HA

So since locking the keys in the car set us back timing wise we got back in time for Fischer to eat again so I decided to head to my parents house! So in 1 day we visited both grandparents house and a mall! WOW We both slept good last night! :) I just got tired again thinking about yesterday.

2 Week Check Up

We have one healthy boy on our hands! We went today for his 2 week check up appointment. He was such a trooper and only fussed a little bit. Not to blame him when he's being stretched and having bright lights shinned in his eyes. Here's his 2 week stats:

8lbs 12oz - 50% for weight
15 inches - 75% for head
21.5 inches - 80% for length

He enjoyed going for a ride can't you tell! :)
We don't have to go back until he has his 2 month check up. That seems so far away right now but I'm sure it will be here before we know it!

Meeting the dogs

I have to say that it has been awesome to not have been worrying about the dogs in these first few days at home. But we were ready for them to be home so we could adjust to life with them and Fischer. So we had my parents bring them home this morning. We now have a new adventure starting with them at home. They really didn't seem to care about Fischer (the birds in the back yard seemed to interest them more) until Fischer started crying!! They were still so good and just stared, mesmerized at him. We aren't really worried about them, they are very easy going dogs and behave pretty good. So hopefully everyone adjusts well.

We were changing his diaper in our bedroom. Fischer was crying so they were pretty interested in what was happening. They aren't allowed in our room so they patiently waited at the door. Good puppies!!

1 Week Old...(well yesterday)

Fischer was 1 week old yesterday. For just being 1 week old on one hand it feels like it's been longer (especially after being up from 12 to 4:30am last night) but then I also feel like it was just yesterday that we were checking into the hospital with anticipation waiting for the arrival of our little boy. Blake & I were actually up yesterday at 4:18am and so we reminisced about Fischer's eventful arrival. And yes of course I cried while just thinking about how amazing our God is. His plan is the perfect plan! Fischer has changed so much already. He has so many new cute faces that he makes and seems to make more everyday. We are slowly learning his moods and things that help sooth him. But we still have so much to learn and each day brings new adventures for us. We are just enjoying every moment we have with him (the middle of the night cring is a little hard to see past at the moment) and know that each phase he goes through only happens once!

1st Doctor's Appointment

We went to our first pediatrician's appointment on Monday morning. Our little boy is healthy as can be. He has gained some of his weight back and the pediatrician said he should be back up to his birth weight within 2 weeks. He weighed 7lbs 14oz. He again was so good, they had to prick his heal again for blood and it didn't even phase him. What an easy boy we have.
Here are his stats:
90% for length
45% for weight
40% for head size

We go back for his 2 week follow up next Thursday!
