Why are they the only ones?
This morning as I was driving home from work, I was listenening to a great CD by North Point ministries. My mind began to wander, as most of ours do when we are driving a road we are very familiar with. I began to think about some secular concerts that I had been to this year, specifically how people were acting at these concerts. It seems funny to me how people at these concerts can be so excited and uninhibited, raising hands, singing, and dancing around and we (christian) sit like bumps on a log during worship. How is it that we who have the ONE TRUE reason in this world to be genuinely excited, act as if worshipping the Lord our God is no big deal. Is it because we don't put much thought into what we are doing on Sunday mornings? We should be the one's dancing and singing at the top of our lungs. If we truly understood what it was to worhip God I don't believe we could sit (or stand) quietly in our church. When knowing who our God is and what he has done for us, I don't think there can be any other response except to raise our hands, dance, and sing at the top of our lungs. Does God not mean more to us the Coldplay's or the Cardinal's of this world? I seem to see a lot of "worship" of these earthly things, and sometimes very little where it is truly due. Now don't get me wrong I believe we have a great love for our God and what he has done for us. But sometimes I think we have a hard time with the "heart to head connection" and we don't take to time to really think about who He is and why we are singing to Him. Our God is passionate and excititng. People of God, STAND UP and DANCE and SHOUT and SING.
